This month we will be reading Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland. We will meet via Zoom.
For girls and boys ages 8-11 and accompanying adult. It’s a party about a book! Play games, make a cool craft, and eat a tasty snack.

Make colorful stained glass spiderwebs using tissue paper.
Come see our sidewalk obstacle course outside the library from September 19 – October 3.
In preparation for our Wings of Fire book club discussion next month, we’ve hidden dragon eggs around Rexburg! Travel to each of the locations shown in the Google form below and search out the hidden eggs.
Once you find an egg, take a photo with it before putting it back where you found it for the next group. Email your photos to gina.m@madisonlib.org.
We’re kicking off Books for Boys and Mother Daughter Book Club this year with a take-n’-go event. Come join us Thursday, September 10 at 6:30 to pick up your kit and meet the books we’ll be reading this year! For ages 8-11 with accompanying adult.
Our STEAM take n’ go activities for ages 6-11 will become available for pickup at the Youth Reference Desk starting Tuesday, September 8 for our holo-projector craft and Tuesday, September 22 for our infinity cube craft.
They will be handed out as long as supplies last, so don’t miss them!

Solve who broke into the Bears’ house and ate their porridge by making this tasty DNA strand. There are four types of chemical bases in DNA. They always form the same pairs. Adenine (A) always pairs with Thymine (T), and Cytosine (C) always pairs with Guanine (G) Write in a jellybean color for each chemical base to make sure you pair them properly!

Put a jellybean on one end of a toothpick.
Match your chemical base pairs by adding the second jellybean. Remember that A always pairs with T, and C always pairs with G!
Push the tip of each toothpick into a licorice twist on either end. Give it a twist to see the shape of a double helix.
