Teen Action Council
The Teen Action Council gathers to discuss plans and come up with ways for the Library to serve teens. Ages 13-18 are invited to join us Wednesday, Sept. 3 in the Community Room at 4 PM!
Teen Crafts
Teen Crafts is back! Join us on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 4:30 PM in the Community Room for a cozy afternoon of creativity. Teens ages 12–18 will learn how to make adorable needle felted tiny toadstools—no experience needed, just bring your imagination!
Teen Dungeons & Dragons
Gather your party for Teen Dungeons & Dragons! Heroes ages 12–18, join the quest on Fridays, Sept. 5 & 19, from 3:30–5:30 PM in the Community Room. Whether you’re a seasoned warrior or just stepping into the realm, you’ll build a character, shape your story, and let the dice decide your destiny. Bring your own 5th edition character or choose a ready-made adventurer—no experience needed, just imagination. The adventure awaits!
Chess and Game Club
Game on, Mondays! Tweens & teens (ages 9–18), come master your moves every Monday from 4:30–5:30 PM in the Community Room (except Labor Day, Sept. 1). Join Nick Allison—our guru of games and strategy—for chess, board games, and all-out fun. No experience needed, supplies provided. Let the games begin!
Young League of Writers
Teens ages 12–18, step into the minds of villains and anti-heroes at our creative writing workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 4:00 to 5:30 PM in the Community Room! No experience needed—just imagination and a little love for the dark side. You’ll build your own complex character, write dramatic scenes from their point of view, and explore what makes a “bad guy” so good.
Drawing & Animation Art Club
Ever wondered how to make your character designs more unique and interesting? Join us Thursday, Sept. 11 from 4:30–5:30 PM in the Community Room as the Drawing & Animation Art Club explores how size and proportion bring personality to your creations. Open to ages 12–18.
Teen LEGO Club
Are you ready to build a world where dinosaurs roam free? Join Madison Library District’s Teen LEGO Club on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 4:30 PM in the Community Room, where teens ages 12–18 will create their own Jurassic Park—brick by brick.
AsiaPop!
AsiaPop! is back! Your passport to Asian pop culture, crafts, food, and fun—just for teens ages 12–18. This month, we’re making a traditional Korean gat—like the ones worn by the Saja Boys in K-pop Demon Hunters! Join us Thursday, Sept. 18 at 4:00 PM in the Community Room and dive into Korean tradition with style.
Puzzlepalooza!
Puzzlepalooza is coming! Join us on Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 PM in the Community Room for a three-tiered puzzle fest for all ages!
1️⃣ Team up on a giant group puzzle 2️⃣ Compete to be the fastest puzzler (yes, there’s a prize—you can probably piece it together.) 3️⃣ Swap puzzles at our exchange table—bring one, take one!
Come for one, two, or all three. It’s puzzling fun for everyone!
Cook with a Book
Teens ages 12–18, join us for Cook with a Book on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 4 PM in the Community Room! This month, we’re diving into the magical world of Fablehaven with delicious hot chocolate and pretzel bites straight from the pages. Learn to cook, hang out, and taste the story—one bite at a time!
Family Friendly Films
Looking for a fun movie afternoon on the big screen? Join us on Friday, Sept. 26, at 3:30 PM in the Community Room for a showing of How to Train Your Dragon (2025, PG)!
All ages are welcome, but children 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible party aged 14 or older. Parents, please prescreen the film to ensure it’s right for your little movie fans!
Armchair Traveler Challenge: Apprentice Artist
Reading can inspire creativity and we are painting a masterpiece! Take an epic journey with us this year as we explore the world of art, from color and style to history and industry. Armchair travelers will read books to create a portfolio of canvases that earn them opportunities to enter the final drawing for our grand prizes. Any reader who joins us for even a portion of the trip will receive small prizes along the way.
