September 2026 Programs for Kids ‘n’ Tweens
Story Time, Toddler Time, & Book Babies
This September, our littlest patrons are exploring the letter “C” and rumbling through the construction zone, with sessions for every age and stage:

Storytime & After Dinner Storytime (ages 3–5, with adult) — Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 10:30 AM in the Community Room, plus After Dinner Story Time Tuesdays at 6:30 PM in the Activity Room. Weekly themes: Cake Catastrophes, Construction Countdown, Once Upon a Castle, and Something New, Just for You!

Toddler Time (ages 12 months–3 years, with adult) — Enjoy songs, stories, and sensory play on Mondays & Tuesdays at 9:30 AM, Community Room.

Book Babies (ages 0–12 months, with adult) — Songs, stories, baby sign language, and sensory play for littles not yet walking. Wednesdays at 9:30 AM, Community Room.
- All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Kid ‘n’ Tween STEAM
We have a different hands-on STEAM activity for ages 6-11 every week this month!

Tween Book Clubs Fall Kickoff
Calling all young adventurers ages 8-11 and their adult side-kicks! Join us as we “meet” the books we’ll be reading together this year, create a book bag and magnet board craft, enjoy a snack, and make new friends. It’s an hour of non-stop fun to kick off a full season of reading, crafts, and treats. Meets Thursday, September 10 from 6:30–7:30 PM in the Community Room.
Rubik’s, Chess, & Game Club
Grab a gaming friend and unplug at Chess, Game, and… Cubing Club! Hang out, meet new people, and play games like Chess, Mafia, and Monopoly Deal — plus, for the first time, Rubik’s Cubes. No experience needed, just a desire to have fun. Meets Mondays, September 14, 21, and 28, from 4:00–5:30 PM, in the Community Room. Open to everyone ages 9–18.
Talk, Play, Grow
How Everyday Conversations Build a Child’s Future
Parents and children ages 0-4! Learn how everyday talk and play prepare young children for reading, school, and life, presented by Dr. David Allen from BYU–Idaho. Sponsored by Idaho AEYC and Madison ELAC. Parents will meet with Dr. Allen for 30 minutes while children enjoy activities in the Community Room, then families reunite to apply what they’ve learned together. This event is free, but space is limited — online sign-up is required. Join us Thursday, September 17, 6:30–7:30 PM in the Community Room.
Family Friendly Films
Want to watch a fun movie on the big screen? We’ve got new favorites and classics lined up for an afternoon of movie fun. Parents, please prescreen films for your children. All children 12 and under must be accompanied by someone age 14+. September’s showing:

Armchair Traveler Challenge: Unearth a Story
Reading is the perfect way to unearth information, entertainment, and understanding, and we are ready to delve into some great books! This year’s challenge has us grabbing our shovels and burrowing into the pages! Field Interns will read one book for each challenge, earning stickers and opportunities to win prizes in our grand prize drawing.
Any reader who fulfills even a portion of their Artifact Journal will earn small prizes along the way, but readers who complete all 10 Inventory Logs will earn the 2026 Armchair Traveler Intern Prize. Sign up at the Circulation desk and grab your Artifact Journal to get started!
