SPECIAL TRUSTEE BOARD MEETING

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by Blaine Robertson, chairman. Board members present were Pam Beard, Blaine Robertson, Jeniel Facer, Gordon Timothy, Henry Benavidez, and Judy Dewey, secretary. Others present at the meeting were Jared Peterson, Kevin DeKold, and Lynn Davies from Cooper Roberts Simonsen Associates, architects, and representatives of the eight general contractors invited to bid on the project.

Bid Opening for Library Addition and Remodel

The only order of business for this special meeting was opening the bids for the library addition and remodel. Eight bids were submitted. Each bid was opened and examined by the architects. The base bid for each was read, bid bonds noted, receipt of addenda acknowledged, and amounts for the six alternate additives/deductives read.

It appearing that all the bids were within the library’s budget, the architects then calculated the actual amount of the bids including the additive alternates.

Bateman-Hall Inc. of Idaho Falls was announced as the apparent low bidder. Andy Clark from Bateman-Hall arrived before the meeting had adjourned. The architects discussed with him the one anomaly in his bid, the amount for additive alternate #6. He indicated he would be reviewing his bid first thing Thursday morning to clarify that amount and would contact the architects.

The architects will be reviewing the bids, and at noon on Friday, September 4th, the contract will be awarded at a special meeting of the board.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:56 pm upon Gordon’s motion to do so.
